Resources Needed

Here is a list of resources we have identified that we need:

Medical:
- medical writer to help us with our website (later with grant writing etc.)
- researchers to teach "how to read literature", "how to design studies" etc.
- able bodies to read and review the literature
(see College Students/medical students below)

Technical (Computer related)
- web developer (web site) - we think we have identified how to have our web presence - using LINUX server with MySQL and PHP  (I have no idea what that means... I think we are using freeware open source resources) please contact mailto:[email protected]
- database designer (I think this is where MySQL and PHP come in place).
- setup network (secure, unhackable etc...)
- Tutors: - they say that medical doctors are top 1% of the population.  While that may be true, when it comes to technology, we are idiots (well, most of us --  believe me, I have had people tell me, 'I only know email').  We hope to use Wiki, blog etc.  We will need help teaching our collaborators on how to use these technologies.  If they are unable to understand then we have to figure out how they can contribute (we may need a way to translate their email messages to wiki, blog etc.).

Management
-  The business model for this research institute is an intereting one (I think).  Initially, it will be solely a collaboration platform.  There are challenges here, in terms of  how to effectively manage and get results when there is not central control.  Huh!  does any management student see a project?  Help us figure out what problems we will face, and how to tackle them.

Historian/Anthropologist:
- to educate all of us on the history of south asian, trends in migration, trends in population shift due to various invasions (this will impact the genetics of the population)

College Students/Medical Students:
- You can work with us in reviewing the literature.

Finance/Fund Raising:
- How to raise funds.  First ideas and then actually go out and get the funds.

If you are interested, please sign up now.  You will receive an email from me when the membership is approved.
